Associate Audio Engineer
Location: Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, One Lincoln Park, Midland PA 15059
Reports to: Head Audio Engineer
Job Type: Part-Time
Travel: N/A
Rate: $15-18/hour, 30 hours a week
Job Summary:
The Associate Audio Engineer will assist the Head Audio Engineer in providing all audio support for productions that make up the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center’s Subscription Series as well as additional events including smaller performances, dance shows, and concerts.
Safety Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
Utilizing proper PPE at all times;
Practicing safety precautions to reduce the risk of injury to self and others;
Maintaining a clean and hazard-free workspace;
Refraining from utilizing tools, or other items if you are not properly trained to do so;
Ensuring that all tools and supplies are stored properly;
Maintaining a strong knowledge of and adhering to all safety protocol and procedures throughout the course of employment.
Job Responsibilities:
Work as the A1 or A2 for all LPPAC subscription series productions and additional events held at the Center
Have experience with all phases of installation, operation, design and maintenance of sound equipment
Ability to troubleshoot problems with equipment, complete basic repairs, and have knowledge of general wiring
Assist with maintaining, organizing, and inventorying of all House Sound Equipment
Strike all sound equipment at the end of the run and return the system back to rep
Operate digital audio consoles for various types of live performances (Yamaha digital consoles is preferred.)
The technician will work with a variety of talent, maintain work spaces, and execute all other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience engineering a variety of performance types including everything from full musicals with a mic’d cast of 30 and full live orchestras to speaker series events and rock shows
Proficient with QLab
Must be able to multitask
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
he successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of standard theatrical practices, comfort with ladders and working from heights, able to lift and carry at least 50lbs, and feel comfortable operating a scissor lift
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong Dante Control networking experience
Experience with recording various types of events
Required Education:
High School Diploma Required
Preferred Education:
BA or BFA in a Relevant Degree or minimum of 2 years related experience
Required Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Certifications:
Dante Certified
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work long hours, i.e. a 30 hour week plus weekends and evenings, as determined by the season’s schedule
There is frequent need to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, carry items, use the hands and fingers, climb stairs, balance, kneel, occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds, and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
An essential function of this position is the employee’s full time attendance and physical presence within the shop.
Responsibilities and time allocation may change over time to meet the needs of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center and can include other duties as assigned.
